    This video shows how to build a Joule Thief from components found inside a Personal Computer power supply.When you open a PC Power suppply, you’ll find a PNP transistor, a LED, and a toroid core – all the ingredients needed for making a joule thief.With a couple strands of wire from a old telephone cord to wind on the toroid core, this project was free to do and actually worked on the first try. It was powered by one of the “dead” batteries that came with my new camera
