DIY Video:How to convert an Old Ceiling Fan Motor into a 40W Efficient Alternator Generator

This video shows an easy conversion of an Old Ceiling Fan motor into a Power producing 40 Watt 200V 3000RPM Alternator Generator that can used for powering your devices. The ceiling fan motors have the stator in the center and the outer portion that usually attaches to the fan blades rotates around the stationary stator. This allows for Neodymium Magnets to be placed around the perimeter. When the outer portion spins, it produces an alternating current. For conversion of an alternating current (AC) input into direct current a (DC) output, a bridge rectifier is used

This video series shows the build of a Homemade Bandsaw Mill from Start to finish. The design for the saw is a good one, in that it was rock solid as it was making the cuts. Making the saw itself move as opposed to moving the wood through it would really make the build a lot more complex. Beefing up the frame to resist movement (chatter) while cutting through 16" of hard maple would be difficult, especially if the height was also adjustable.Using a stick to lever the wood through the saw was a very good way to regulate a steady feed rate and took little effort. For serious cutting in green, thick hardwood, a 2hp motor doesn't really "cut" it. To make the cutting more efficient (read faster), the blade speed should be very high - as high as 6000 fpm - and a motor that size doesn't have the power. A 6-8 hp gas engine would be much better

This video shows a vegetable oil heavy fuel gasifier that I built in an attempt to fuel a gasoline engine with waste oil. Here i test this with an old lawnmower engine. In this video I use vegetable oil as fuel, but used motor oil should work as well. The other videos shows the build of a similar used motor oil gasifier that I built from an old fire extinguisher and some pipe. It works by pyrolysis. This one has an improved burner and sideways canister orientation.

  • How to Build a Homemade DIY Thermal Heat Collector for heating your garage for Cheap

In my mission to be more self sufficient on our urban homestead, I am always in search of ways to take advantage of what God has provided us with, free of charge. Today, that form of hand-out is solar heat.In consideration of heat for my garage, I toyed with several ideas… wood, kerosene, and propane were my first choices, and then I thought maybe I should experiment with solar thermal. I did some research on solar thermal heat and then added my own common sense thinking to come up with this new solar thermal heat collector. My total cost was about $120 bucks and a day and a half worth of work
